The Craft

Before the Jacket Is Finished

Before a jacket becomes something made for one person, it begins in the atelier.

When cloth begins to take form

Every jacket starts as flat cloth. From the cloth, the form of the mannequin and the first cuts, each element is considered and shaped step by step, so that the silhouette that emerges truly belongs to one person. One Body, One Pattern follows where those shapes begin.

What the finished garment no longer shows

At this stage the jacket wears its working marks openly: white threads left in the cloth, chalk lines across its surface, edges not yet closed. They are signs of work still in progress, and most of them will be gone by the time the jacket is finished.

A finished garment rarely shows how it was made. This stage does.

Bespoke is a process

The garments in the atelier share one space, yet each follows its own path. From cloth and form to every cut, each is shaped to become a jacket for one person. One space. Many garments. Made for one.

For us, bespoke is a process. Fabric. Form. Hands. Time.

Before a jacket becomes what we see, it has already passed through a process that only the atelier sees in full. For the whole journey of a jacket, read Inside a Bespoke Jacket.
